Along a Long Road was created as a single, continuous 35-five-foot-long piece of art. I was very excited to learn that the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts will display the frieze from September 23 – October 23, 2011. More later on events being planned around the exhibit.
Along a Long Road is number four in the “Best Books of the Month for Children” list for July 2011 on Amazon in the United States.
From the AIGA: “The selections from the 50 Books/50 Covers competition exemplify the best current work in book and book cover design as chosen by a distinguished jury of design peers. The selections become part of the AIGA Design Archives, join the physical archives at the Denver Art Museum and Columbia University’s Rare Book and Manuscript Collection at the Butler Library, and are exhibited in a traveling exhibition that begins at the AIGA National Design Center, in New York.”
